Sierra Shared Spaces is looking to hire an administrative coordinator to assist with managing the administrative, fiscal, and reporting needs of the Lake Isabella Community Hub project. This is a full-time, exempt, temporary 10 month position, starting in December 2025 and ending September 30 2026. This position is made available through the California Jobs First Catalyst grant for the Lake Isabella Community Hub project, but may be extended depending on future funding availability. This role will primarily be in-person at our Kernville office for the first three months, with opportunities for more flexibility as our team expands. Some travel within the Kern River Valley and Kern County may be required.
Sierra Shared Spaces exists to leverage shared workspaces, partnerships, and community engagement to lift up economically disadvantaged and underserved rural communities, starting here in the Kern River Valley. Sierra Shared Spaces is the natural evolution of the vision and experiences of Kernville Cowork, which was formed over 7 years ago with a goal of bringing transformation to the Kern River Valley.
Sierra Shared Spaces’ vision is to create physical shared environments for connection, collaboration, and productivity, starting with a Community Hub in Lake Isabella. With shared workspace as a foundation, we will provide a place, space, and opportunities for connection to other organizations that are supporting our community. We will become the hub, creation point, and incubator for innovation and the creation of new ventures in our economic region. Furthermore, we will expand our community and our impact both within the Kern River Valley and to other unique rural communities.
The planning phase of the Lake Isabella Community Hub is now underway. This planning project involves a lot of moving parts, including responsibilities around managing the invoicing and reporting requirements of the grants that we’ve been awarded, and the additional complexities required for working with dozens of stakeholder organizations and a team of staff and consultants.
We are seeking a professional and organized individual to join our team and take ownership of the administrative responsibilities for the Lake Isabella Community Hub pre-development project.
Applicants can send their resumes to careers@sierrashared.space. A cover letter may be included, but is not required.
